GIVING
Why Give?
Your donation can make a difference. Thanks to past support the School has been able to provide over a million dollars in scholarships to students. Your donation helps plant the seeds that will mature as GSISS alumni fulfill career plans helping to build a dialogue that will contribute to a future in which the best from both cultures is exchanged and cherished, and a spirit of peaceful collaboration and respect prevails.
Making Contributions
Gifts are made to advance the study of Islam by donors with charitable goals who have decided to invest in the future of The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences, which is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) institution. The School will be pleased to assist in implementing contributions in the following ways.
Gifts for Educational Operational Expenses
Contributions made by donors may be put to immediate use by Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences. Gifts may be made as either unrestricted or restricted for a specific purpose, such as scholarships for needy students or those with special talents or qualifications. Unrestricted gifts are especially appreciated because they allow the school the greatest flexibility in meeting special needs and/or taking advantage of special opportunities.
Gifts of Cash
Checks may be made payable to the The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences and mailed to the School at 45150 Russell Branch Parkway, Suite 303, Ashburn, VA 20147-2902.
Gifts for Permanent Endowment
Donors may provide continuous support for The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences by establishing a permanently endowed fund named in honor of the donor or someone whom the donor wishes to honor. Endowments may be created for an unrestricted use or for a specific purpose or program at the School.
Pledges
The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences encourages pledges. Pledges allow a donor to extend the donations over a period of three to five years. Dividing your gift into installments may enable a higher level of giving than might otherwise be possible. A signed pledge form or letter of intent will ensure that your pledge is counted as part of our fundraising campaign.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities allow donors to deduct the current market value of the security. Gifts of stocks and bonds may be made in several ways. Please contact The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences for further information.
Planned Gifts
Planned or deferred gifts allow you to make a considerable gift now that will promote The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences in the future. These gifts may include bequests in wills, life insurance policies, or one of several kinds of charitable trusts and annuities.
