Dr. S. H. Nasr Seminar Series Draws Participants

December 2000 - An Islamic Philsophy Fall 2000 seminar series given by Dr. Seyyed Hossein Nasr was attended by thirty to forty students weekly. Dr. Seyyed Hossein Nasr is the University Professor of Islamic Studies at George Washington University. The series featured lectures on: "Al-Farabi-On the Perfect State;" "Ibn Sina-Remarks and Admonitions;" "Ghazzali-The Inherence of the Philosophers;" "Ibn Rushd-On the Harmony of Religions and Philosophy;" "Suhrawardi-Treatment of Light;" and "Mulla Sadra-The Wisdom of the Throne." Videotapes of the six lectures are available through Astrolabe at www.astrolabepictures.com. They are also available within the audiovisual collection at the Ibn Khaldun Library.
