Jordanian Students Visit GSISS

September 16th, 2002 - Jordanian graduate students of shariah visited GSISS as part of the International Leaders "Religion in America" program sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. The students were introduced to the School by Dr. Taha Jabir Alalwani, the School's President, toured the School, asked questions and met faculty, GSISS students and staff and then sat in on Dr. Eltigani Abdelgadir Hamid's "Introduction to Quranic Sciences" evening class.
The students were from University of Jordan and Yarmouk University. Many of the students were already faculty members in their respective institutions and are expected to be crucial leaders in Jordan in the future. They were were particularly interested in talking to American students of Shariah.
