TUITION AND FEES

Tuition Costs

  • Tuition for the 10-month Intensive MA in Social Studies: Islamic Studies degree program is $7,200.00. Three payments of $2,400.00 are due on September 1st, January 1st and May 1st respectively of the academic year of study.
  • Tuition for the Weekend Intensive MA in Social Studies: Islamic Studies degree program is $7,200.00 or $200 per credit hour. Three payments are due per year for the two years of study: September 1st, January 1st and May 1st respectively.
Tuition is subject to annual review by the Board of Directors. There is also a non-refundable $30.00 application fee for all programs.

Credit for Tuition Criteria

If a student voluntarily withdraws or is terminated from a course, credit for tuition will be calculated according to the following criteria, based upon the percent of class contact hours attended:
  • Students who have paid for tuition and withdraw or are terminated during the first one quarter of the course shall be refunded 75% of the cost of the course.
  • Students who have paid for tuition and withdraw or are terminated during the second quarter of the course shall be refunded 50% of the cost of the course.
  • Students who have paid for tuition and withdraw or are terminated during the third quarter of the course shall be refunded 25% of the cost of the course.
  • Students who have paid for tuition and withdraw or are terminated during the last quarter of a course are not entitled to a refund.
Students who have paid tuition for any course in a program that has not started at the time of withdrawal or termination are entitled to full refund of tuition.

Living Expenses

The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences does not provide dormitories or similar special housing for its students and does not take any responsibility for the housing of students. Living expenses in the metropolitan Washington DC area cost a minimum of $1,200.00 per month for a single student, plus an additional $700.00 for a spouse and $410.00 for each dependent child.
